The Botanist Islay Gin

This small-batch, satin-smooth British artisanal gin from the Isle of Islay in Scotland is made with nine of the classic gin aromatics including, orris root, cassia bark and coriander seed. The gin is further enhanced with 22 locally foraged botanicals, including hawthorn flower, juniper, meadow sweet, and water mint - all of which are hand-picked from the windswept hills, peat bogs and Atlantic shores of this Hebridean island.

About the Brand

An exciting and unusual gin from Islay whisky distillery Bruichladdich, The Botanist Islay Gin is made in a Lomond pot-still affectionately known as Ugly Betty! Betty prefers to work at low-pressure and won’t be rushed enabling the precious botanicals to slowly release their complex and signature aromatics.

From that first, achingly-slow 17 hour distillation, the result is a highly distinctive, complex, floral gin with outstanding finish. This gin is hand-crafted in the true sense and a labour of love, the team like to think of it as a breath of botanical Islay in every glass and we have to agree.
