Penfolds 2007 Grange
The Penfolds Grange 2007 is a dense, vivid red, with a grape variety of 97% Shiraz and 3% Cabernet. Matured for 21 months in barrel and three years in bottle. On the nose it is unmistakably Grange - ripe, pungent and confronting.
About the BrandGrange is arguably Australia’s most celebrated wine and is officially listed as a Heritage Icon of South Australia. Grange boasts an unbroken line of vintages from the experimental 1951 and clearly demonstrates the synergy between Shiraz and the soils and climates of South Australia. Penfolds Grange utilises fully-ripe, intensely-flavoured and textured Shiraz grapes. The result is a unique Australian style that is now recognised as one of the most consistent of the world’s great wines. The Grange style is the original and most powerful expression of Penfolds multi-vineyard, multi-district blending philosophy.

At the core are dark elements such as soy, peat and black liquorice, whilst beneath are aromas of coffee and bitter chocolate. Above, you'll experience aromas of African spices coupled with a fleeting and appealing glacial waft. On the palate, the Grange is balanced and fresh, with flavours of dates, roasted nuts and freshly baked pecan-pie. Food match: 80 day dry aged South Devon scotch fillet, wattleseed, pumpkin and chestnut (Magill Estate Restaurant).
