Maker's Mark Bourbon Whisky

Red winter wheat is the flavoring grain of Maker's Mark. It allows the bourbon to sit on the forward pallet of the tongue. Traditional bourbons use rye for their flavoring.

On the nose this is fruity and rich. The palate has notes of rye and spice, barley malt, a little nut oil with butterscotch and vanilla. The finish is quite sweet with butterscotch and dry oak spice.

About the Brand

The 4 Ws (water, wheat, wood and wax) make up the basic elements that make Maker's Mark. The corn and red winter wheat that goes into Maker's Mark is grown in Kentucky and Indiana. The barley used in Maker's Mark is grown in Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. The barrels used in the creation of this bourbon are charred for 40 seconds. The charring opens pores in the wood and caramelises the natural wood sugars.
