Grant Burge Benchmark 2011 Pinot Grigio

The wine is pale gold with green hues. On the nose the wine shows ripe pears with subtle floral and strawberry notes. These aromas follow on to the palate, which predominately tastes of green pears and is balanced with creamy notes provided by the time spent on lees coupled with dry, crisp acidity.

Food match: This Pinot Grigio is designed for early drinking and is a perfect match for seafood dishes and light, summer salads. Grape varieties: 100% Pinot Grigio. This is a vegetarian wine.

About the Brand

Grant Burge wines was formed in 1988 by Grant and his wife, Helen, and is based in the historic Moorooroo Cellars, on the banks of Jacobs Creek, in the heart of the barossa Valley, 80 kms north of Adelaide. Grant's wine heritage traces back 150 years to his great-great-grandfather, John Burge, who emigrated from England to the area, and has continued down through five Burge generations. The fruit was harvested from growers in the Barossa, and the remainder from respected premium growers in South Australia's Riverland.
