Gin Mare Mediterranean Gin
The award-winning Gin Mare has long been the reference point for a gin that’s pushed the boundaries of what a gin could taste like – it’s savoury and unusual, but balanced. Mare is a Mediterranean gin flavoured with four principal botanicals: basil, thyme, rosemary and, most unusual of all, the Arbequina olive - alongside juniper, cardamom and citrus.
This cocktail recipe is the perfect summer’s evening aperitif and had us sold at the title:
Five a day
60ml Gin Mare 30ml celery juice 30 ml lemon juice 2 small tsp of white sugar A pinch of salt 2 small sprigs of rosemary Top with Cava
Gently muddle one of the rosemary sprigs with the salt and sugar. Add the Gin Mare, lemon juice and the celery juice and shake. Double strain into a flute glass and top with Cava. To really create a showstopper, garnish with a “nest” of grated celery and grated lemon peel resting on a rosemary sprig on top!
About the BrandGin Mare is produced in a small fishing village on the Costa Dorada in Spain using botanicals all sourced within the Mediterranean area. It opens the door to a new variety of gins, with a novel pan-Mediterranean concept that unites the different cultures around this sea representing their botanical stars such as: citrus fruits from Spain, thyme from Greece, basil from Italy and rosemary from Turkey. These combine to create a true taste of the Mediterranean.

Fragrant, aromatic nose, with subtle aniseed, crushed juniper berries and lemon peel. Background herbal notes with a hint of black olive. Savoury, not sweet. The taste is rich, succulent black olives, then a wave of aromatic herbs, with thyme and rosemary to the fore plus a little lemon for freshness. Soft, smooth texture; well balanced. Finishes rich and juicy, with soft aniseed notes and a touch of lemon peel. Savoury and refreshing.
