Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin
Four Pillar's home is in the Yarra Valley, where the distillery’s neighbours make some of the finest wines in the world. So in 2015 Four Pillars combined their Rare Dry Gin with some of the best Shiraz grapes in Australia to create the Bloody Shiraz Gin and you’ll be so pleased they did!
The Yarra Valley Shiraz grapes are steeped in gin, where the tanks are kept cold and stirred daily. After eight weeks the fruit is pressed before blending with more Rare Dry Gin.The beauty of Bloody Shiraz Gin being a product of vintage means that it will never be the same. The 2017 release has an incredibly vibrant ruby colour, which turns iridescent pink when mixed with tonic or soda. Give the Bloody Floradora a go when you are next brandishing your cocktail shaker:
50ml Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz Gin
10ml sweet vermouth
10ml sugar syrup
25ml fresh lime juice
Half a lime for garnish
Simply add gin, vermouth, sugar syrup and lime juice into the shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a short glass over ice, then top with a splash of ginger beer and garnish with half a lime.

The palate is lovely and sweet, with long juniper and spice characters to finish. This release is slightly lighter in colour than last year's, due to a cool vintage in the Yarra Valley with a moderate ripening period.
