About the Brand

The vineyards of Cloudy Bay are located at superior sites throughout the Marlborough region to maximise the considerable diversity that exists in micro-climates and soil types. The different sites provide nuances of aroma and flavour, bringing complexity to the wines. Cloudy Bay is primarily noted for its Sauvignon Blanc wines, and has played an important pioneering role in establishing New Zealand's and Marlborough's reputation. Cloudy Bay's first commercial vintage was produced in 1985 from purchased grapes, and the company later planted its own vineyards. It was one of the first New Zealand wines to be widely exported and came to attention because of its fruit-forward style and very pronounced varietal character.

Lychees and almonds with classic gooseberry notes and a hint of wood smoke. A full bodied palate of citrus fruits with the richer flavours of caramel and nougat, leading to a crisp yet spicy finish. Able to age for up to five years, this wine an ideal partner to tuna, oysters and poached fish.
