Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2016
Cloudy Bay Vineyards was established in 1985 in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough at the northern end of New Zealand’s South Island. Possibly the most prestigious Sauvignon Blanc in the world, it definitely lives up to its reputation.
About the BrandThe vineyards of Cloudy Bay are located at superior sites throughout the Marlborough region to maximise the considerable diversity that exists in micro-climates and soil types. The different sites provide nuances of aroma and flavour, bringing complexity to the wines. Cloudy Bay is primarily noted for its Sauvignon Blanc wines, and has played an important pioneering role in establishing New Zealand's and Marlborough's reputation. Cloudy Bay's first commercial vintage was produced in 1985 from purchased grapes, and the company later planted its own vineyards. It was one of the first New Zealand wines to be widely exported and came to attention because of its fruit-forward style and very pronounced varietal character.

A wine full of fresh herbal aromas and layers of ripe guava and tropical fruit. Gooseberries and passion fruit on the medium-full body; the palate is succulent and crisp with a long flavoursome finish. Superbly refreshing served chilled on a sunny day, this is also a great match for meat or vegetarian stuffed peppers.
