Cloudy Bay 2014 Sauvignon Blanc
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2014 has zesty lime and grapefruit aromas that are the first to emerge from the nose, followed by nectarine and lemongrass tones. The palate is fresh and focused with ripe citrus, stonefruit, fennel and mineral notes lingering on the persistent finish.
Food match: Gazpacho, oysters, goats cheese, fresh strawberries and greenlip mussels. Tomato and goat curd salad drizzled with fresh basil oil.
About the BrandThe vineyards of Cloudy Bay are located at superior sites throughout the Marlborough region to maximise the considerable diversity that exists in micro-climates and soil types. The different sites provide nuances of aroma and flavour, bringing complexity to the wines. Cloudy Bay is primarily noted for its Sauvignon Blanc wines, and has played an important pioneering role in establishing New Zealand's and Marlborough's reputation.
Cloudy Bay's first commercial vintage was produced in 1985 from purchased grapes, and the company later planted its own vineyards. It was one of the first New Zealand wines to be widely exported and came to attention because of its fruit-forward style and very pronounced varietal character.
