It’s Friday again, nearly time for the weekend! The girls here at Drinks21 made Thursday the new Friday this week, as we headed into London for Monica’s Hen do. We put on our dancing shoes, and with a pink feather boa for Monica, went to Jewel Covent Garden. The Laurent Perrier Rosé Champagne was ordered for the train journey, and thankfully we had two bottles as the first one was gone by the time the train reached Egham! Once there, we had delicious cupcakes presented with an impressive ‘sparkler’ and a cocktail shot. Then the dancing shoes went on and a trail of pink boa feathers were left behind us!

The sales team are also having a great week, as now they've got their brand new, spangly cars – Volkswagen Golf GTIs no less! Here’s a photo of Ally receiving her car.

Drinks21 and ABK6 Cognac are also going to be at the London International Wine Fair next week at the Excel centre from Mon 20th  – Weds 22nd May. We’re on the ABK6 stand R 50 talking about and sampling their fantastic range of Cognacs. The Abécassis family are flying from Cognac to attend. We’d love to see you there, come and say ‘hi’!

Drinks21 took part in the Tarrant’s Quiz Party evening on Wednesday night, around 560 people attended and by the looks of it, everyone had a great time! The aim of the evening was to raise money for Children with Cancer and so far an impressive £108,000 has been raised. The charity was set up 25 years ago and the quiz night’s have been running annually for 17 years.

Drinks21 donated the auction prize of a two day trip for two to the ABK6 estate in Cognac. The prize includes flights, lunch, dinner an overnight stay in Cognac, plus a money can’t buy experience of a tour of the estate and a tasting with the ABK6 family. Congratulations to our prize winner who generously donated £1300 towards a great cause, and thank you to Elodie Abecassis who travelled from the ABK6 estate in Cognac to join us for the evening.

The format of the evening saw us enjoying a delicious 3-course dinner, whilst playing the Heads & Tails game. We then took part in the quiz, which was hosted by Chris Tarrant and involved music and some interesting dance moves being thrown about! There were also some fabulous auction prizes. Check out the video of the evening:

Chris Tarrant proved to be an entertaining host, and we were happy to hear he enjoyed the bottle of ABK6 VSOP Grand Cru Cognac we sent over to him. What a fabulous night!

Happy St. George’s Day! Today is the day we celebrate everything English. We’re thinking Marmite, fish and chips, tea with milk, James Bond and Chase vodka! As a celebration of this day, Drinks21 are offering you a discount throughout April when you purchase Chase Potato or Marmalade Vodka online. This delicious and unique vodka is made in the Chase Distillery in Herefordshire and we love it!

Chase Vodka

The very first bottle of Chase vodka was produced in April 2008 and took two years in the making. Each batch numbered bottle is a true labour of love, using traditional methods to produce the finest, smoothest vodka with true provenance. When you buy the marmalade or potato vodka online you will experience true refreshing, fruitiness from the marmalade and a creamy, buttery taste from the potato vodka. The potatoes are grown on a farm in the heart of Herefordshire.

St. George's flag

St. George's Day began in 1222 when the Council of Oxford declared April 23rd to be 'St George’s Day'. There is the medieval legend that St. George rode past on his white horse to slay the dragon and save the princess of Silene in Libya, as she was being offered up to the dragon. In the process St. George dismounted and drew his sword, protecting himself with the sign of the cross, hence our flag today.

It is interesting to see that St. George’s Day isn’t a National Holiday, as many of us may wish it to be, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still spend the day celebrating quintessential Englishness (there’s an English-sounding phrase for you!). Here’s to all things English, including Chase Vodka, Aston Martin’s, Sunday roast dinners, red phone boxes, the list goes on…

Drinks21 & Interbev's Day Out!

18 Apr 2013 15:40:30

We’ve just come back from our Drinks21 & Interbev team-building day where fun and games were had by all! Off we went on Monday to Wentworth Club, Virginia Water for motivational talks and team games. As you can see from this picture below, and in the words of Tony the Tiger, we had a grrreat time! We think Wayne, Dave and Gail suit the tiger look!

It's Grrreat!

In the evening we went on for a great night out at 45 Sunningdale to enjoy Champagne tasting – Taittinger no less – and a delicious 3-course dinner. Check out this totally funky
3D packaging:

Taittinger

The dress code was smart although animals weren’t mentioned on the invite. Nevertheless Dawnella decided she'd like to bring her pet bird with her and carried it on her shoulder throughout the night:

We also enjoyed some music from Joe, Wendon and Lucinda Belle who created some beautiful renditions of our favourite songs on the harp, guitar and bongos.

Thank you to all involved in hosting the day and to Gail and Steve, we had a fantastic time!
